The Twenty20 World Cup is organized by the International Cricket Council or the ICC, the international governing body for cricket, every two years.Each team plays a single inning, bats for a maximum of 20 overs (100 minutes), and the match is completed in three to four hours.The T20 World Cup was inaugurated in 2007. South Africa hosted the inaugural event and India won the final against Pakistan. The next ICC T20 World Cup will be held in 2014 in Bangladesh, followed by India in 2016.

CLT20 is an international Twenty20 limited overs cricket competition played between the top teams from major cricketing nations administered by BCCI.Current champions Sydney Sixers. It has a total prize pool of US$6 million.

T20 in Commonwealth Games
Cricket was included in the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia. This was the first—and, to date, only—time cricket has been played at a Commonwealth Games. It was a 50 over match.The tournament was not considered a success, and cricket was missing from the 2002 games in Manchester and the 2006 games in Melbourne. It had been hoped that a Twenty20 tournament could be included at the 2010 games in Delhi, but the BCCI was not keen on a Twenty20 tournament. Now with the immense success of IPL the board is seriously considering a T-20 tournament in the Commonwealth games.



The 2014 Commonwealth Games, the XX Commonwealth Games, will be held in Glasgow, United Kingdom over 11 days of competition from 23 July to 3 August 2014.

Twenty20 cricket in Olympics
Cricket was once part of 1900 Olympics games.The president of the International Olympic Committee, is keen to see cricket becoming an Olympic sport in the future. MCC’s world cricket committee says it would like to see Twenty20 cricket included at the 2024 Olympic Games. Twenty20′s push to be part of the 2020 Olympics when International Olympic Committee approved cricket as an Olympic sport in February 2010.
